I have for a long time been stressed out about how I have organized my Tim Holtz ink pads. Well not any more... I have made my own storage shelf and I am proud about it... Just look an see for yourself.
Before:
In a drawer stacked on top of each other. Impossible to find..
First I ordered som architectural cardboard on the Internet. Then I measured and cut the cardboard. (It was a lot of measuring and cutting..)
Then I assembled it and glued it together with Glossy accents.
I cant have it open in the back so I cut a pice of cardboard and glued it to the back. Then I reinforced the edges with Glossy accents.
Well done so far.... Over to the ink pads...
I store the ink pads upside down for the ink to be closer to the top of the pad. That make it harder to find the right color in stack of pads. I solved that by making paper strips with the name of the ink as a table in Word. I took a paintbrush with clear glue and painted over the words to protect the ink from being smeared when I colored them with the matching color.
Then I took glue on the back of the paperstrips with my Xyron.
And then sort them into similar color scheme ....
